Damian Slater appeared on popular Channel 7 game show Dead or No Deal today. He ended up walking away with $1500 after turning down an $18,500 offer from the bank… in true wrestler fashion!

If you would like to train and wrestle in Japan, then this is your opportunity!

APPLICATION INFORMATION: ZERO1 Try-out – Australian Challenge

The application fee of $250 must be paid prior to taking part in the try-out. A minimum of 10 people must apply. *Please note there will be no refund including if you become inured, drop out or asked to leave.

Please note that attendees MUST be at least 18 years of age (and a current pro wrestler) and MUST have a valid passport.

Prior to the try-out you are required to fill in an application form. This will include a medical questionnaire, an indemnity form (in which you understand the risks and dangers of competing and taking part in a try-out for professional wrestling) and permission to use your image and likeness for media purposes etc.

The try-out will consist of a match on Saturday, March 31st at the NWA Pro: Wrestle Reunion event and a day of training at the Pro Wrestling Dojo on Sunday April 1st from 10am to 6pm. The times may vary on Sunday depending on the amount of attendees. The try-outs are held in Adelaide, South Australia and you will need to provide your own transport and accommodation. **Sunday is the required day to attend, so please make us aware if you are unable to make the Saturday night**

Wrestlers will be evaluated based on wrestling ability, physical fitness, look, gear, gimmick & attitude. The top attendee will receive round trip transportation to Japan, plus housing and training at the ZERO1 Dojo. You will be responsible for everything else (food etc) during your stay. *Travel date & length of stay in Japan will be worked out with the top attendee subject to their availability.

The Professional Wrestler chosen will not be guaranteed anything more, but will be granted the opportunity to prove they belong in a ZERO1 Pro Wrestling ring in the land of the rising sun!

Please note that the try-outs will be physically demanding and a high level of fitness is expected. On the day you will will also include a seminar giving you the opportunity to learn some Japanese style wrestling and be given an insight on some of the training methods & techniques they use.

In 1999, Adelaide’s biggest Professional Wrestling Academy was born, the name “Monster Factory” became iconic in the grass roots of professional wrestling in the past decade, and contributed to the rebirth and success of the wrestling industry in a number of states around the country.

Under the careful guidance and training of Col Dervany, the Monster Factory helped pave the path for a number of Australia’s very best professional wrestlers who have helped contribute to the growth and history of professional wrestling in the country to this very date.

Pro-Wrestling South Australia (PWSA) was born from the Monster Factory, and became the first promotion in South Australia to build and contribute to the industry for over 6 years with names such as ‘Jag’ Hartley Jackson, ‘The Real Deal’ Steve O’Neal, Bruce ‘Havok’ Mills, Rocky Menero, Tony Stone, Jayson Cooper, Damian Slater, Chopper Colman, John E Radic… the list goes on!

Col Dervany taught professionalism, respect and brought upon an “old school” mentality that breed a number of elite wrestlers, and lead to a number of students traveling from interstate to the Monster Factory to train under Col, including a group from EPW in Perth.

Recently Col Dervany’s health has been declining, so on Saturday 31st March, the wrestlers want to pay honour to Col in a special reunion show to help celebrate the past and industry that he has given so much to over the years!

WRESTLE REUNION will be a unique night that will see the return of a number of wrestlers that were trained in the Monster Factory in a special historic One Night Only show you won’t want to miss. Many thought that some of these wrestlers would never compete in the same ring again, but in a surprise announcement the MAIN EVENT match for this special night will see Col’s first students – ‘Jag’ Hartley Jackson and Rocky Menero face off in a re-match that has been 10 years in the making! JAPAN – ZERO1 Pro Wrestling try-out in Adelaide, South Australia

Many dream about making it to Japan to train and perform as a Professional Wrestler. The ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ is truly the last stronghold of Professional Wrestling, not Sports Entertainment, but pure Professional Wrestling. The emphasis is on the athletic ability of the wrestler.

 

 

It is a goal of Hartley Jackson’s Pro Wrestling Dojo to help give Professional Wrestlers in Australia the chance to live their dream of wrestling in the great country of Japan. In the last year, five wrestlers from The Pro Wrestling Dojo and NWA Pro Australia have had the opportunity to train and wrestle for ZERO1.

Hartley Jackson, the head trainer of The Pro Wrestling Dojo, along with ZERO1 owner Mr Nakamura and company manager Rhiannon Clews, are looking to find a wrestler ‘outside of the Pro Wrestling Dojo’ to be given an opportunity to fulfil their dream!

The ZERO1 Pro Wrestling try-out in Australia will be held:

• Saturday March 31st and Sunday April 1st
On Saturday March 31st you will take part in a match on a live NWA Pro event to showcase your talent along with the other members of the try-out. Sunday will include a full training camp from 11am-6pm. Mr Nakamura will be there to evaluate your performance on both days.

• The Pro Wrestling Dojo – Level 1, 63 Light Square, Adelaide. South Australia.

• Entrance fee is $250.00

• Minimum Class of 10

• Attendees MUST be at least 18 years of age (and a current pro wrestler in Australia, no beginners)

• Attendees MUST have a valid passport
